Lower Power Tank Setup - Octo?

I'm considering getting back into the hobby, but I'm hyper sensitive about my tank's power consumption this time around. I had a bimac for a while, which allowed me not to run a heater or lights, and I'm thinking this may be a good setup for lower power consumption.

Am I nuts this time around?

Yes, lower temps are prefered by bimacs, and they are sensitive to strong lights. However, you do need a plumbed 50 gallon+ tank with a good protien skimmer runnning 24-7.....

Yes, that's what I had on my last tank. I'll need to do some searching for tank ideas for low power consumption to see if I should go octo or reef.
