LPS corals and bubbles, does this mean they're splitting?

I'm just curious to see how many of you have had this happen to some of your LPS corals, frogspawn in particuliar. My frogspawn had split multiple times but I never saw the coral produce a bubble. IMO it's linked to something else. Other people say that this is an indication that the coral is splitting. Any thoughts or experiences you would like to share would be great. Thanks. :)

On a side note, this appeared on my favia coral one time. It lasted for about 3 months but nothing ever became of it.

My frogspawn does look weird when it splits. It is kind of like a bubble but more like it's mouth puffs out. It kind of looks like the mouth has lips.

On another note I have a weird deformed green paly. I'm thinking I should post in the zoa forum. It started as a small bubble but has kept on growing. It is now a huge flourecent green bubble larger than the coral it's self. I have spent 2-3 hours trying to get the pics on photobucket and it wont work. So I give up for now.

One hundred and thirty four looks and only one reply, (thank you btw) I guess these bubbles are not that common. It's kind of hard to believe with all the frogspawns out there growing. Oh well.

Actually, I have 2 frogspawns and only one does it. Only a couple of heads too. The more I look at it, the more I think that some of the heads are not splitting. I think one head is splitting because it is long instead of round. They are very close to each other and the one that puffs out does not eat as good as the other. It usually just drops it's food so I kind of gave up on target feeding it. Maybe it is a sign of hunger but who knows. I just now got to eat a lot of brine shrimp so we'll see if it goes away. If it does, I will let you know.

My frogspawn is doing what you are describing right now too. I will try and take a picture of it. I am also wondering what it is doing as well.

My frogspawn didn't do it when it split, but my hammer did. I could see new tentacles inside the bubble, I thought.
