Last saturday I went to the petshop and saw what looked like a nice acan... I brought a small frag home and was diping it in 30% melafix, 70% tank water... at that moment my cousin that lives in another country surprised me and arrived at my house... i totally forgot about the coral and left it dipping for more than 30 minutes... maybe 45 cant remember

the thing is its been looking like that and its nothing at what it looked like in the LFS...

its the first coral that i've ever had problems with... dont know any suggestions?

even tried target feeding it phyto

30% melafix 70% tank water is too strong. 45 minutes is too long (but you know that).

The official (according to the bottle's label) melafix dosing concentration as a dip is 20 mls (4 tsp) per 2 liter (1/2 gallon), or 10mls per liter (2 tsp per quart).

As a ratio, 10mls per liter (1000mls) is a 1 : 100 ratio. You're mixing it 3:7. Way too strong.

The official maximum time for a dip (and the word maximum is in bold face on the bottle's label) is 5 minutes.

Also, to me, it does not look a phytoplankton eater. I would try meaty foods or pellets.
