LPS tank Questions

I'm still trying to get my saltwater setup stuff. I'm low on money and don't want to buy something and then have to re-buy it later. So I like the LPS corals most of all. They say they need moderate light and medium water flow. What does this mean. How many watts per gallon and how many gph should a tank with these types of corals need.

LPS lots of ways to go...I personally would go with a cheap T-12 "bulb size" VHO "very high output" setup if your going 4 - 2 foot wide tank. Our spend some money on T - 5 and some good reflectors. Flow go with some medium flow maxi-jet mods. cheap

flow rates in the water column, sump, fuge? I wouldn't necessarily get caught up in flow rates. More what you are wanting to accomplish. Do you want a fuge? low to medium flow just enough to roll around your cheato or slow enough to not stir up your mud, or sand bed.
Sump? do you want it slow enough to run a skimmer in it efficiently, medium enough to run live rock rubble or mechanical filtration?
Water column? enough flow to eliminate dead flow spots, enough to biologically filter your water with your live rock. Medium enough not to blow the heads off your LPS. Lots of answers be more specific and we are here for ya.

definately would recommend not running a skimmer or running an undersized skimmer with just lps. i find that they tend to like the water a little dirty
