LR Dead or Alive

I have A 12g Nano set up i hav about 6-7 pounds of live rock the tank tank has been up and running for month and a half I just put a blue damsal in yesterday.

This is my first salt water tank how will i know if my rock is dead and when will it start changing colors and growing things?

Where did you get the LR? If it came from an already cycled tank, you should be good to go. Are you testing the water? Watch carefully for an ammonia spike now that you have added livestock. The LR doesn't really "Die" it can just take time for the bacteria to repopulate. Seed it with a piece of cured rock from a donner tank, if neccessary. Also, the color change is coraline algae. It takes some time but if you keep your levels good and your ca up, it will come. Good luck!

I got the rock at a fish store by my house i was told the rock was cured the tank just finish cycleing the past couple of days i am water testing all the time
