i heard someone talk about a LR "farm" in tampa - is that true?

I'm looking for a place that has an extensive inventory of LR ... i'm trying to stack my 150g tank with some larger pieces for aquascaping .. and some shelfing ... but all out local stores in the fort myers/naples area only have smaller pieces.... not much good

thanks,

marco

Im guessing they are not fully cured, someone who knows more will post, I'll try to find you the thread on them.

from what i have seen when it comes to the tampa bay rock it is usually full of gorilla crabs which are a nasty mantis shrimp a huge nasty and lots of aptasia another real nasty the good side is that sometimes you get some cool hitchhikers on and in the rock remember this is just my experience with this stuff if you want to read more about it look at the tampa bay saltwater sponsor forum for more info and pics of some of the stuff people have gotten off of their rock recently

also Finz on Dale Mabry and Fish and Other Ichthy Stuff in Oldsmar both have very nice selections of all size rock

there is a guy in ruskin that sells liverock as well cheap like 2.50 a LB i forgot the name but he also sells on ebay as well io know someone knows what i am talking about good luck

There is a store in Apollo Beach that sells rock for 3 bucks a pound. Some pretty nice pieces too. Life Oceanic is what it is called. Check it out.

Here's a couple a large pieces I picked up from John at Fish and other Itchy Stuff. He typically keeps large pieces in stock.

I like florida aquaculture rock, but honestly I wouldn't go with it for large pieces even if you could fine some (I didn't even try for my 225). The word boulder comes to mind :). It'll be dense and fairly boring in shape.
