A couple days to a week. Thats been my experience anyways, the cooler the better up to a certain point.
It all depends on what you are trying to do. Avoid die off? A few hours or less. Store it until you are done moving? A few days wont hurt anything, but you can be guaranteed a cycle when you put it back in a tank.

thanx for the reply.no i have some lr im going to use to seed my LR i acid washed,so it cycling is ok.just didnt want to kill bio
