LR spewing some white junk??

Every 2-3 hours I see a spray of something milky/white coming out of the same spot on 1 particular rock I have in my tank. I can't tell what its coming out of. Any idea what this could be??
Is there any particular invert that sprays stuff out like this.

It sprays a little and this eventually makes its way up to the HOB.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I have an issue with my phosphate being high, in case that may help out at all.
Thanks!!!

I don't know how long worms spawn for, but this this has been happening for a few weeks now...
I also haven't seen any worms in the tank or in the LR.
????

If you haven't seen any worms it must be something else, because when my fireworms spawned they were all over the rocks spraying like crazy :)

Wanna see some clips, click on the links below:

I have also had Stomatella spawning, and they crawled to a high point on the rocks so if you look for them you should be able to see the snails in action ;)

Thanks for the videos. Whatever is getting spewed is less than in your videos and is completely white. I got up close and personal with the LR where I've been seeing the spewing go on and although I can see where its happening, I can't see anything there. Its just a crevice on the rock with nothing else that really stands out. There is nothing sticking out or different about it. I'm considering taking the LR out and examining more closely...

If I were to make a guess, I would say probably a spawning peanut worm.

Lots of people have them in their live rock without realizing it. They live in little tiny holes like the one you're describing, and I've seen ones in my tank do it on rare occasions.

I once put a quarantine tank in hypo and unwittingly left some LR in there and I had about three or four dead worms in about a day. I used to think I just a one or two because that's all I saw...

Thanks for the tip!
I actually think I saw a little head sticking out yesterday. I'm going to monitor it more closely today and see if I can get an ID...

Whatever it is, it's spawning. Lots of critters do. Interestingly, many spawning events are tied to the lunar cycle (if the tank gets or sees natural moonlight). Thus, there are some days where reefers from all over the country observe spawning events around the same time.

To find a peanut worm, you have to take a look at your tank at least an hour after all the lights are out with a red flashlight. The longest one I ever saw was extended about 6 inches out of it's hole.

Best of luck,

Roy
