lta and bta

I know putting different species in the same tank is risky but I was wondering if anybody has had any luck with keeping theses 2 together?

I tried it. I had 1 lta and three bta's. The bta's deflated every day even when running carbon. When I removed the lta they stopped deflating.

I have a LTA, RBTA & a sebae in a 65 gal, no problems. The LTA & sebae are on opposite ends in sandbed, & RBTA is attached to rockwork halfway up in middle of the tank.

I guess I should say that just because it was my experience it doesnt mean it will happen to everyone I guess it can go either way.

I had an LTA in my 100 gallon for 6 months it never moved, never deflated, never detached. I added a BTA and the LTA started moving. Within 2 weeks the LTA would not stay attatched and was just drifting around the tank. I gave it to a friend with no other anemones and its doing fine.

I was running carbon.

I use carbon anyway but What does running carbon have to do with them deflating?what causes it to deflate?if it does deflate does that mean there is a problem with the tank or the bta?

Chemical warfare between the lta and the bta's was causing my anemones to deflate every day. People claim that carbon can help stop chemical warfare but I was running carbon and it didnt stop it. If your anemone is deflating often there is probobly something off in your tank.

I had a LTA in my tank for six months, was around 6". Got a 3" RBTA which did ok for a week. Then it deflated, moved under the rocks, and bleached out. I left them together for about a month, and the BTA hadn't recovered and shrank an inch. Got rid of the LTA a week ago, so we'll see if the RBTA recovers.
