LTA in trouble?

I have a large lta who has been on the move as of late. Today he wrapped himself around a plastic feeding clip and he is almost cut in half. There is only a small strand between his two halves and I do not believe that will be there long. He smells fairly nasty but not a dead smell, but honestly this is the first time I have really handled him. Maybe they always smell. His tentacles still look good for the most part. Is he doomed? Will I now have 2 nem's
Thanks
:hmm6:

Do you have a picture? (( even an old one )) Want to make sure that it is an LTA (( M. doreensis )) and not an BTA (( E. Quadricolor )), depending on that, this could either be a huge deal, or not.

LTA's do not split, I have yet to hear of an account, let alone see one, so that makes me think it is in real trouble if it is one.

Not sure why it only showed up in my email, but here is your picture -- and it is an BTA -- E. Quadricolor

Sweet!! Really? I love being wrong! I just spent an hour trying to upload the pic from my phone. So, he should be ok?

Should be, assuming that this isn't a stress induced split --- what are your water parameters? (( with numbers please )).

ok, SG 1.026, pH 8.0, Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0, Mg 1410, Ca 400, PO4 0.1, kH I unfortunately lost the tip to the test syringe so I am unsure on that one.

He has now officially split in 2 and when I turned the lights out he looked pretty good (or should say they looked good, LOL)
