I just got a new LTA. I went in to a LFS and they had just got there shipment in they had a nice LTA great color, closed mouth, sticky as all get out. I have a 90 gallon tank with 6 t5 lighting at 54w each. I am curious if this is enough light for the LTA and also is there anything that is need to be worried about with it. It has already placed its foot and found a spot I guess it likes which is where i wanted it. Any advice is welcome as it is my first LTA I had a BTA for over a year but lost it due to a very mean shrimp. Here is a picture of it at lights outs. Let me know what you think.

Forgot to mention the shrimp is gone that took out the BTA and that it ate yesterday some silversides cut in to tiny pieces without a issue. I have a pair of clowns that I hope will try and host him they are a occellaris and a perc I believe the male is a littly weird his markings are all funky and he is half black with a orange face and tail nice looking guy. anyone with helpful info on LTAs would be appreciative. I have read up on them and am hoping to upgrade to LED lighting at tax time.

Looks like u are on a good start! If it buried its foot, has started to settle, closed mouth and good color then you should be good. 6x54w should enough light for it! I would wait 3 or 4 days before feeding, I've also heard several bad stories about silversides I go with raw shrimp and fish...

good luck

Ok I will keep that in mind about the silversides when i use them I basically get everything off it except the meat. I will switch to the raw shrimp if it is better for them. I was surprised at the feeding response I got I will wait a few more days on feeding it again and just monitor it. Thanks celamb for the advice.

well he released from that spot not sure what is going on he has not attached yet again and I am just letting him do his thing i dont know what else to do. I could really use some advice on this. besides not being attached he is doing well, he is still sticky still big and colorful. any ideas?

Going through the same thing with my new LTA. He wandered for a couple of days until I planted him. He stayed for a day then that night he climbed out of the sand. He has now wandered over near the rocks and planted himself right next to it. I am hoping he will stay there.

Yeah luckily he is only wandering on the bottom of the tank and most of all my corals are up on the rocks lol. I have heard of trying PVC and filling that up with sand and placing him in it. Not sure if that would work or not but think I might give it a shot if he does not place him self soon. The GF just called and said he is still in the corner of the tank next to the rock so maybe he has found his spot. will keep this posted and if I try the PVC.
