LTA vs Star Polyps

I understand that star polyps sting and have chemicals that can damage and kill other corals. This sucks, because they spread like a weed. But the question I have is, are they strong enough to irritate and damage the tentacles of a LTA? Has anyone had experience with this happening?

If anything the lta will hurt the star polyps

Yep, you will see GSP recede slightly and discolor some where nem touched it, but usually after that initial contact the GSP just does not grow that direction, but it usually does not die either.

In my experience LTA are VERY aggresive, I got one once, and in the first 5 min. he ate one of my crabs. I wanted to return him to the LFS but they were closed for the night. The next morning I caught him eating a chromis, and 2 snails. will never buy one ever again.

They do not hunt, they are opportunistic, they will eat what wanders or drifts into them, and usually that would be sick or weak fish or animals.

what u had probably wasnt a LTA. r u sure it wasnt a condy anemone?
