Enjoy!:D

There are a few more pics (from day 2 - present) on the website...click the little red house thingy above this post.

I think he's quite the cutie as well. Eats cyclopeeze and crushed flake.

He has adopted the plastic plant to host...I am pretty sure it was simply a lack of options!

Enriched Rotifers till day 16
Artificial Artemia mixed with rotifers till day 20
Newly hatched BBS until day 35
freeze dried Cyclopeeze for a week with BBS
freeze dried Cyclopeeze and finely crushed flake (Ocean Nutrition Formula1 and 2) to the present

So you have to have your own rotifer and green water culture going first before your babies hatch?

Congrats on 128 days.

I have my first percula that i have been able to get past metamorph. He is about 75 days old now. Amazing how they grow but still so tiny. :)

Awwww he does look so cute.. its too bad he's going to grow up into a mean and nasty bastard! (she probably by that time).

Out of curiosity what happened to the other ones in the tank? Did they just all die?

The other ones didn't make it past day 40 or so...not real sure why.

Thanx for the words of encouragement from everyone!

you are correct. His last name is Iaintkilledhimyet.

Hoping to get better ratios in the future! ;)

Living up to his name!

Living up to his name!

Well Lucky got new digs this weekend. He is now the ruler of his own 5gal tank. While setting it up, and preparing for the move- - Lucky once again lived up to his name.

While being transfered from his previous 1 gallon tank to the specimen container for acclimation to his new home. Lucky jumped.

Ended up in the garbage disposal side of the sink (Tank is in the kitchen). While the wife and I were freaking out, I get a flashlight to see if I could see him in there still. Sure enough there he was.

We kept a saltwater drip via a turkey baster going to him until I could locate the right tool to retieve him with. Didn't find anything I felt safe using. Then the wife had a brain storm...started going thru a drawer in the kitchen and out came the salad tongs...cheap ones...very thin blade shaped.

After a few misses, and turning lucky with a drip of water from the baster...I managed to get him up onto the tong and out of the disposal.

Into the specimen container, and acclimating to the new tank.

Total time: under 3 minutes. I can say though it seemed like 10-15 minutes....wife crying, pale as a ghost...my hands shaking...just too much fun.

Lucky is doing well in the Ocean of a tank (seems like it to him anyway)...just wanted to share...never give up, never surrender!

Wow that's amazing.. haha kind of a funny story.. but at the same time it's not ! He sure is owning up to his name :D

After the fact, it is kinda funny. Jumping thru hoops for a 3/4" fish...go figure.

Anyway Here are some new pics of him in his new home.
