Lugols burns PVC?

Anyone ever have Kent's Lugols literally melt PVC? I use a Neptune autodoser for various things, one of which is Lugols (relatively recent). After about a month I noticed that the PVC adapter had literally melted away from the autodoser. I know it's concentrated, didn't think it could actually melt plastic...

I wouldn't think so......I don't dose iodine at all , let alone on a dosing schedule.
When I first started I would dose iodine, after awhile most people stop once they figure it's doing nothing.imo

I'm no chemist, but I would have to assume because it's a very strong chemical.
It rots out all the eyedropper rubber that comes with them in the bottle after time..

I'm pretty sure dosing iodine makes my Zoas multiply faster, but I dose by hand twice a week.

Zoas grow like weeds no matter what,I super glued a frag of zoanthids to the underside of my toilet ...... they're doing good
Jk of course

Not trying to start a "Lugols does nothing!" flame war, and I get that it's a strong chemical, which is why I'm trying to find out if my experience is unique (in which case it's probably not the Lugols, although I don't know what else it would be), or if it's actually happened before...

No it actually destroys rubber, I've noticed it many times with the eye dropper bottle
