Ya, I know I have too much... Some of that is rock that I have had for a while... Which I do not like, and I will be removing when the tank comes down to be drilled, plumbed, painted, etc... I am either going to try and sell it, put it in the office tank, or just trade it for corals @ the LFS... The Fiji towards the bottom is what I am referring too as not being liked, and I cannot stand it... The other rocks, (some are new, some are not) I really like and they have lots of holes, and neat shapes... about 30 lbs of it is new rock that I just went ahead and got so I would not be disappointed by colorless rock when I get everything done

BTW, what exactly do I need to do for my pictures to qualify for a FTS:lmao:?

You will see above, where I was talking to MELEV about the amount of live rock...

The camera in which picture?

Such as it is anyway... I will be installing the new T5's hopefully this weekend... Hopefully I will get my sump soon as well, and then I am going to take everything down, and drill the tank for a overflow like this:
overflow12.jpg

I am going to put another hole back there, for a possible closed loop someday... I would go ahead and install it when I have the whole thing down, but I might just stick with these Koralia's... They seem to be doing a good job, and by the time I get a return installed, it may be toooooo much

Anyway, all of this is pending a sump... I am just trying to get everything a little bit @ a time until then... I just bought some Diamond Hole Saw's for drilling the tank

My new ORCA skimmer ought to be in soon too, they called yesterday, and said it was finished

Like I mentioned before, some of those large pieces of FIJI will be coming out when I take down the tank...So if anyone is interested, let me know... I would guess that it is about 30lbs or so, and it has been in MY tank for 3 years or more

Just incase anyone wants to know how I plan on getting all of this done... I am going to go buy one of those cheap 55 gallon tanks @ walmart, and just transfer all my livestock, skimmer, live rock, etc.into it until I get finished w/ the 90.. All the existing stuff in the tank, except for the substrate will go in there, and I will maintain it with water changes
This is my plan anyway... I sure hope it works out!!! I figure that it will probably take me 1 week @ the very maximum... Painting the back will probably take the longest because I have to let it dry

Later,
Nater:)

Dang, twin Aquabee pumps!! That ought to outskim your tank in a few days. I like the fact that they include a gate valve on the outlet; something my $800+ Deltec did not include.

Salty... This is why I ordered mine from www.protein-skimmer.com... They build very good bodies w/ the pumps you want... You also get to choose the options you want included... I almost got them to mesh mod the pumps, but decided that the dual aquabees would be enough all by themselves... I imagine that this skimmer will give me that ability to upgrade to something larger in the future... All that, and it only cost less than $500

You're KILLING me now!! I'm in the process of upgrading to a 215g tank and wondering how my APF600 will handle the extra 90 gallons of water.

I have checked out their website several times, but now that you told me the price, it's now bookmarked!!

Can you take a picture of the needlewheel for me?? I'd like to compare it the the one on the Deltec.

Have not tried the MJ thing yet... I am still working on getting everything in to get my tank drilled, etc... So right now, no closed loop type circulation going on here

Just a little update

Just a little update

I got the 90 taken down, and now everything is in a 50 gallon rubbermaid container... Everything is doing fine, and I hope to have the tank, and sump back up with all the livestock by next weekend... Here is a picture of the container that they are living in

Also, here is a picture of the new skimmer hooked up and running... This was taken the same day that it was hooked up, so the skimmate does not look very dark

Update

Update

Well, I have finally gotten to the point where I think I can get this thing moving along... We have been doing so much to our home over the past year, that the tank had taken a back seat... I have done a lot to it in the last week or so, and hope to have it back up in another week... My camera is MIA, so I took a few shots of my progress with the IPhone... Hope they will look Ok.

Here is the tank on the newly finished stand... My wife loves to make things look unique

So, that is my progress so far... I wanted to get it all plumbed last night, but lost track of time, and did not make it to Lowes on time... I will be going to the Hornets Vs. Spurs game 7 tonight, so it will have to wait till Tuesday

I'm glad to finally hear from you again. Be sure you fully support all edges of that sump; no floating sections. :)

How is your livestock doing after all this time?

Thanks Melev... No worries on that sump... it will be supported when full of water, etc... The livestock is doing fine, but I do need to get it moved back into that display... I recently have started to see some Cyano... Otherwise, nothing has changed about how I took care of the tank
