Can't seem to find what one of these I want to go with, so I will leave it in the capable hands of the RC members.

Lumen Arc

Lumen Bright

someone please tell me if the lumen Bright comes with the socket / cord. thanks.

They are very different reflectors, the LB is a more focused reflector and the Lumenarc is a wider spread. Which one will benefit you more depends on the circumsyances and what you're trying to accomplish.

Ditto on what Peter said.

The Lumenbright is great for a strong light focused in a 2'x2' area. Very bright. Also you must hang it pretty high above the water.

I currently have a lumenbright mini which measures 16"x16" over my 36x24x18 tank. Its bright in the 20" x 20" area. It gets dim 4 inches beyond that. Then the next 6 inches on both ends are not lit at all. I have T5's for supplementation so it lights up the dim areas so I cant notice it that much.

Been debating the same thing. I am trying to figure out how to light my new 180g.

I currently have a large lumenarc with a/c vents that is lighting my 58g. I have decided to keep it for the center of the 180g. I am going to use lumenarc minis on each end (preferably also with the a/c vents).

I debated going with lumen brights for a long time, but I really don't want a canopy over 12-18" tall so that sort of ruled them out. My thought is that the lumenarcs with the a/c vents should keep the tank the same temp as higher mounted lumen brights would.

I don't think you can go wrong either way, as long as the reflectors are mounted at their proper height.

help with set-up please!!

help with set-up please!!

Need help deciding which light for my system. I have 72"x24"x31" with dsb so probably ~26" from sand to top of water. Like to start placing more sps in tank. I like the looks of lumanarc but think lumanbright might be better.

What do u guys think(and ladies)?

I figure I will need 3 pendents.
Also what wattage 250 or 400. I'm thinking 12K. I like only slight blue tint. Would minis work?
Any help woould be appreciated.
Thanks
Eddie

This is off topic but the lumenmax by sunlight supply is much better than a lumenarc. It measures 22"x22" and is a great reflector. Mix of hammertone and smooth. Id debate between that or a Lumenbright.

But keep inmind that the lumenbright has a very strong hot spot that you'll notice. Not an even spread of light.

I don't really notice a hot spot on my tank. I'm running 3 - 20k reeflux bulbs in lumenbright reflectors. My canopy is 20" tall. Tank is 72" x 24" x 30" tall.

I used LB as well and no hot spots for me. Those who are experiencing hot spot need to move your reflector higher up...

I was thinking of a cost effective (if there is such a thing) for a 40 breeder. How do you like the setup? How are you running your T-5s? Care to post some pics? How high is the reflector hung for the lumenbright?
