SunnyX, runs two LA3's with 10k XM's on his 5' tank, it looks nice.

Do you know how far off the surface they're placed?

wow that's bright!

Leishman good game! I'm very thankful the Caps didn't score in OT as it might have crushed our spirits for the games to come...

How many VHO's you got on that more recent pic you posted?

Last minute goal was schweet! That's the 4th time this season the Caps have hit OT with seconds to spare. Saku Koivu is a sick player, I thought Olie had stoped it though,

Back to the lighting.... I run 2x72 URI Actinic VHOs (soon to be 4)

I'm willing to pay that considering the legendary SLS build quality! And they're smaller to boot!

Too bad their customer service is not so legendary. Smaller=less spread.

While their customer service did take a big hit, I'm hopeful that Sam's presence on the forums is a move towards better things.

Also, the L3 is pretty small but gets excellent coverage. Even if it dropped off a bit by comparison it would be more than enough for my needs.

I suppose we'll all just have to wait and see.

Neither.. It's common sense.

Here, compare for your self. I'm not sure the spread is smaller, just a little different.

Thanks mwood, Anything like that for LumenMax 2 yet?

A LM2 and a LM3 were just recently sent to Sanjay. So it might be another month or 2 before the data is either posted or submitted to Advanced Aquarist.

Point was more reflector is going to equal more light spread.

What happens when you use same bulb and same ballast in your comparisons?

That is why I used the percentage graphs. They should balance out.

Here's a pic with the radiums only. Not bad from the front as that is where all the light is. The back half of the tank is darker.

Just got the xm10k's hooked up. Looks much better than with the iwasaki's. This is with radiums and xm10k's on.

wanting to use a lumenarc in a hood over a 30x26x22 tank. I really dont care for hoods that are overly tall and would like to keep it as short as possible what is the minimum height from the waters surface the pendant should sit

I should also mention that i will be running a 175 watt halide

basedon that info should i go with the mini ? i really like the venting option on the larger one since it will be in a hood

Wow that's a lot of light. Looks to cover just about every square inch :) Blends well eh?
