The other day Matt, (the2ofus), was over my shop to pick up a couple things. We were talking about a 10 gal algae fest tank that only has a cucumber and a ton of aptasia in it. I mentioned about the time a fly got in it. Here's the pic.

My peppermint shrimp went to town and got rid of all my aptasia. Problem is, they didn't know I wanted to keep my zoas, and started on them when they were done.

I did not know peppermints ate Zoas- I was going to buy 3-4 for Atips in my office tank- It is tough to get at the Atips in the office tank due to the setup being "childproofed" for liability purposes= corner high cabinet with a corner canopy bolted into the wall. Hmm.... so much for that idea- I guess I could just move the Zoas to my home tank. Maybe the Peppermints will eat the Xenia that is overgrowing.

I would guess a little more food in your tank and they'd probably leave them alone.

I couldn't believe you only feed like 3 times a week........Your tank looks great and everything looks really healthy.

Now that you told me that, I only fed once today, and will probably stick to that once a day...

They sure don't miss a drop when I put it in......vacume cleaners, I'm tellin ya!!!

Matt...one of the reasons I get away with that is such a low fish population in general in the display tank. With so much LR supporting 5 small fish, they can feed off the reef the other couple days. I do feed the fish in the frag tank every day since they don't have LR to graze on.
