Eric,
This is definately going to rock when you get it all up and running!
For a pump, I would suggest one of the squence pumps. They use relatively little electricity and a bunch of water. Coincidentally, they also have 1.5 inch inlets/outlets.

LunchBucket...Your tank is coming along nicely!! You got me tagging along...

LOTS'O'GALLONS....your setup looks sweet!!!

Someday my wife will let me play with the big boys..

Keep the pic's a coming

Are you set on an in-wall? That tank has such a large opening that it would look pretty nice as a top-down tank.

Hello my friend,
Very nice! I have 2 of those with the same dimensions. I light them with 2 - 400W bulbs each. Because of the shallow depth you can mount them at 12" instead of 9" and achieve the spread you want. Great dimensions IMO. Congrats.

Anything I can help with just let me know.

Regards,
Kevin

andy and oxbow - It's a heck of a deal that I couldn't pass up.

Louis - I think so to. Setting up and planning is one of the most fun parts IMO.

Laakmann - I love cubes so I'm happy I'll have one now. Any pis of your 36cube?

Zoos - Like I said too good to pass up. Better do it now before all the money is gone in a house

kozmo - I think I'll only need 2. We'll see. I don't care too much about the back little bit. I'll have most of my corals up front. Heck in 4ft I have a lot of room to put them up towards the front more

PITSTOP - Glad to see you're on board for the ride

maxx - I hope it rocks...i need to buy some rocks :D I'm gonna get a Dart for the CL.

shouldabeen - Oh I'm sure you guys will get sick of pics.

Chris - I'm not set on in wall but in a house that we can afford I highly doubt we will have a room big enough to house this and still use the room functionally. So in wall most likely...depends on teh house though

david - I like the dimensions too. Depth ROCKS

JB NY - Glad to see you on board. Great find...I agree

kevinpo - That is the size of those two frag tanks you have? I've drooled over those for years. Any updated pic? Glad to hear 2x400w will do just find on that tank. 12" shouldn't be a problem either. I'll let you know if I need something...thank you! You've helped out so much w/ the 58gal already...I owe you!

thanks guys
Lunchbucket

Nice find. Can't wait to see the 701 in action on this tank.

Now you need house hunters to come up with similar find on a great price for you.

Lucky to have a wife who shares in the hobby so much.

Eric, if I had that tank and was thinking in-wall, I'd probably put it in the wall only halfway or two-thirds. Leave the back in the room behind it, and create a nice canopy to hide the MH lights & VHOs. That way you don't have it sticking out too far, but can still enjoy three sides of it from your main viewing area. All the plumbing, the overflow, the Tunzes, etc would be on the other side of the wall, so to speak.

It's going to be awesome.

Remember, metal stand, sheet of wood, sheet of pink foam, then the acrylic tank on top.

I agree, sort of. I wish I would have just had the back of my tank stick into the fish room enough for the plumbing, then had the tank low enough to make it a look down viewing tank.

Was thinking the same 1/2 way into the wall would be very interesting if possible...

I didn't read this in thread, but is the sump in the basement?

Yes, he was suggesting that in the first post, using a large horse trough I believe.

Eric, you asked about the refugium in the sump. What you can do is make one that stands inside the sump. Water flows in (either via gravity from the reef or pumped in with a Maxijet from the sump), overflows and pours back out into the return section.

I want to do it 1/2way out IF possible. We'll see what our house accomidates.

melev - thanks for the reminder on the foam and stuff :D Is there are certain density or kind that is best?

I'm thining I'm gonna use a rubermade stock tank for a sump? Cheaper than making an acrylic one or buying a glass tank. Plus I could Put bulkheads in them too. I'm thinking of using a Salt bucket for a fuge?? Maybe. Just a thought on something cheap that can hold a decent about of water and still take up not much room. heck it could do a 20H too I guess...but I'd ahve to drill it....Hmm Maybe I would use my old 20H reef that I have sitting in my parents basement. Already drilled w/ an overflow and I have a canopy and stand if needed????

I'm searching for TUBV's and Sch 80 bulkheads, LR, and a Dart. It will be late fall or early winter before this tank is up and running so I have time to dispurse the costs of the extras out.

For the refugium, use the glass tank. You can place it on 2x4s that cross the sump, and that way still see the critters and growth progression of the macro algae.

Nice looking setup. You'll like the height of the display. Similar to my specimen tanks. Is the stand in two parts so it will fit through the door? I made that mistake once......

Yeah, what he said....:D

Most interior doors are 33"wide or so, and a single front door is about 34" wide. Hallways shouldn't be an issue.

BTW, is this an Envisions tank?

Lunchbucket.. Looking good!! I knew it would be just a matter of time before you upgrade!! :D

I see you upgraded to the 701 also. I just picked up the 851 and love it.
