Priming is done. We were in bed about 1:20am!! Up at 8am mother in-law is coming to help paint. Went to Lowes and got our paint and some rollers. Time to pound out the painting! Pics later

There are a few screw holes that didn't get filled in completely and look a little bad. I need to figure out how to fix them :(

Ceiling is done! Starting walls. Color is hard to tell 100% sure and it isn't 100% dry yet

Contrast of the primer that is on the tank jut out. It will be painted the same color as the other walls though

going to look great!!!!

But I've gotta ask, how much flak did you get for taking pics while there was still painting going on

ALL DONE!! Been done for quite a few hours.

Temporary staged. Those are the couches we will use but the carpet was the carpet that was in the bedroom that we tore out. We need to finish the other part of the basement and will recarpet then since it all flows together so this "remnant" will work for now. Couches are not up close to the walls since it needs to finish drying. Going to install the outlets now :D

TV will be where those two boxes are in the wall. One is outlet and one is surround sound and cable mounted in the wall.

Pic of the tank wall w/ crap all over the ledge

Sitting in my couch the view I will have. I think I was slumped down a little in the couch so it seems low :D

You can't see my screw ups in the pics so that is why it looks ok :D

Sad thing is the downstairs is nicer then the upstairs now :( We have 1/2 of the living room upstairs ripped apart and a small part of the kitchen :D Nothing like multiple projects at once.

jnarowe - Thanks buddy! Now need to get my butt moving on the tank and room.

figured that was your mother-in-law. When I saw that pic, I couldn't help but imagine all the ways I would have been told to get back to work:D

Love all the pics!! A lot of great progress today!!

oxbeard - I was a little scared that we were going to have a fight over the color we chose. Figured I'd get her full opinion on how it wasn't the right color....NONE of that she liked it.

She volunteered to come up. Told us to call her when we were ready to paint :eek1:

Woot! Man that looks good. With the textured walls if the screw holes really bother you it's easy to fix. Just a dab of spackle or tootpaste even; and paint over them. You'll be surprised at what you can hide with non mirror finish walls.

A mother in law that paints, man you have a treasure! Be thankful for her and your bride working with you like that!

(Don't guess we need to dig old posts off of Hop's threads huh? Hmm I see some payment arrangements coming ;) )

JK, things look great I know you and Mrs. LB will be so glad to be done! Soon the serious business can begin!

nice looking, you picked a good color so not to upstage anything else in the room and good planng with the wiring I love surround sound

Eric,

Looks sharp man! One question though, is the tank going to be flush with the outer wall of the jut out, or is it going to be recessed a bit? I looks like its pushed back a fair distance for work....

Nick

I think it will look great if its recessed. Man cant wait to get a room like that. I'd never leave the house. Fill that bad boy up, stock it and stare.

Thanks everyone and yes I can't wait to be done and have fish swimming!!

gmatta - Thanks we like the color a lot and w/ the crazy couches we couldn't go w/ anything wild

maxxII - It will be recessed in the tank room the thickness of the wall but in the pics the tank isn't in the final resting place it is pushed away to paint and do some stuff. WIll move it back when I go to finish stuff :D
