You can find the plastic square inserts in the hardware section (probably near the square tubing) at Home Depot.

Black rubber weatherstripping would hide the gap nicely, or some pretty trimwork.

The fishroom doesn't have to be sealed that tightly. Why not secure some felt behind the doors to avoid light bleed into the living space? Felt is cheap and easily replaced as it degrades.

I'll check for the caps next time I'm at Lowes.

Black weather stripping will be an option. We are trimming around the tank so we can hide it pretty easily.

I didn't know if it had to be sealed that tightly. I'll grab some scrap 15# roofing felt from my buddy and tac it around the edges of the doors. Good call on the felt I wouldn't have thought of that. I'll use that so I don't have to worry about shimming out the doors. Too bad I bought two $5 rolls of white rubber weather stripping. Now I'm not gonna use them :( I'll find someplace to use it

For the shelf below the tank would an enamel spray paint be good over that primer I have on there? Would that be better than the porch paint that I have now?

The white "rubber" weather material is good for gaskets if it's EDPM, so worth saving for future use. :)

Yep that is the stuff.

spazz - Sorry busy this weekend help a buddy build a house. Then Sunday was take the dog for multiple walks day and painting.

I'll try to get a pic of the doors and the ledge painted.

Well I looked at Lowes for those square tubing caps and only found 1.25" caps. I need 1.5" caps. I'm gonna check another hardware store but I bet I'll have to order them online. Any suggestions? The inside of the cap I got (1.25") says www.caplugs.com They want like 200 pieces for a mini carton :( I'll check usplastics too.

I went to Runnings Farm and Fleet to look at track for my sliding light rack...not so much luck. They had the track for barn doors which is what I need but they didn't have much for the rollers. They didn't carry the rolllers w/ the threaded rod coming out of them. Any online place? I might get to a city close to me this weekend and look at Tractor Supply Company or Bombgards.

You may also want to try a company called MOCAPS. When you find what you want, call them and tell them you would like a sample to test for your application. Usually they will send out several.

Found them @ Fastenal in town. They ordered them in and won't be here till Tuesday though. About $0.90/cap

If you can't find the rollers let me know. We have a local hardware store that carries the ones for the square track and a lumber supply that carries them for the round. I could always ship them to you.

PaPa - Thanks man. I should be able to find them locally just need to keep looking or ask if that store can order them.
