great points guys! we all never expected an SPS tank to take this much QT...but i guess i should be that way...just like fish but like Travis mentioned rarely anyone goes to that extent

i think if i do have them and loose a lot of corals i am gonna focus on species taht don't get things like Red bugs or AEFW's. maybe some LPS or some cool sps that don't get problems like this....more of a mixed reef....or concentrate more on fish??

how much to AEFW's move around? i've been staring at 2 spots that i thought looked fishy and they haven't moved since 2am....do they sit in one spot that long?

Nice pics Lunch. I'm not sure about how much the FW's move around. I've never really watched them long enough. They should move if you:
A)poke them
or
B)shine a bright light on them for a few minutes

Your tank looks great. As far as the AEFW's go I can give you my experience. My corals started to lose tissue from the bottom up. At the same time a few threads were going around localy about the fw's. I ignored it and thought my tank just needed more attention. It was summer and I was lacking in the maintenance department. After getting a lesson on what ot look for I spotted the fw's and the eggs all over the place. By the time I got the corals out and fragged of what I could keep, I lost at least 75% of my SPS.
the best way to see a AEFW is to take the colony out of the tank and let it dry. The AEFW's are a shinny clear color and will show up on a dry coral. I found them all over my bigger colonies. The levimisole treatment does remove the worms. The eggs are different. Most of the egg patches were in the areas of dead tissue. almost as if the FW killed an area and then laid down the eggs. I had a thread on the other board that documented some of my teardown and rebirth. I am happy to say that my tank is back up and thriving with many new SPS frags that are quickly growing. And some of the corals that I was able to kleep look better than ever.
Good luck eradicating the buggers if you got them. I would suggest taking care of them quickly if you find them.

Eric, great pictures, and lots of pretty corals. However, what caught my eye is the pink stuff showing up in several pictures. In picture #1 and #6, it is pretty much dead center. Is that just the texture of the LR, or is that a coral, or was it one in the past? It is neat looking.

You've got some decent size stuff growing in there now. Cool!

i too figured they would move it is shined a bright light on them. i have a Mag flashlight about 15" long like you alwasy thing of the cops carrying. it is freaking bright. so i shined it on the two "fishy" spots for a couple of minutes and nothing. they didn't budge. i just did it again and they are still there....so i'm not sure if i'm freaking myself out or if they are two FW's

reeftanktime - sorry to hear!!! i knew some guys up in the cities were going through some tough times w/ them. i'm glad you prevailed!! i haven't seen any eggs yet. i thought i saw some on friday but now i don't know if they were eggs. the colony i am watching is a wild one (i believe) so i am seeing some normal browning and a tiny bite of tissue thinning but nothing quite as others have seen w/ AEFW's...so i'm hoping an praying!

melev - that is just good old coraline algae. never had a coral or anything there. it just grows kind of lumpy. tangdiver was over yesterday to pick up that remora for Travis and commented on the same stuff.

say a reef prayer that i am clean of FW"s oh and one for the others who are battling them.

i have LOTS of pics to put up this afternoon. i need to resize and upload them so it will be later this afternoon.

on a side note i'm gonna try Prodibio. been reading up on it and it seems like a good system. i'm looking to get some better color and to get rid of my bryopsis. i'll be ordering around tuesday or so...so it should be here by the weekend. i'm gonna use the "big three" bio trace, bio digest, and reef booster. i will use those for now. i will get 24wks of product for about $50bucks. so i can't complain. i won't be out much if i dont' see results.

You're getting some great growth, LB. I see several pieces that have really taken off. Do I see a small PM frag too? I'm interested to see what you can do with that.

I'll be interested to see what you think of prodibio. I've been into the zeovit for about 1.5 years now...

oh i forgot to explain why the cali tort looks terrible! it got blasted from the tunze upgrade. so i broke it off and moved it down. it is recovering nicely and regrowing tissue. that is why the pic of it looks terrible!!

Ewan - growth is going great. some are pretty stale on a few but others are nutz! i have to trim that green milli in the top middle down quite frequently.

no PM frag...that died. that tan one that is infront of the candy cane is a Lokani. it bleached and has been doing badly. i moved it to the bottom of the tank (was WAY up high). it is slowly coming back and now encrusting. it's a beautiful purple one.

i hope to see some good results w/ Prodibio. if it gets rid of my bryopsis i'll be happy. didn't know you were using Zeovit and for 1.5yrs!! how you like it?

melev - thanks buddy there are issues (hydroids and bryopsis) but i guess every tank has issues
