I like it. I lost some pieces initially trying to figure out my dosing. It turns out that I actually only dose about 1/20th of what is called for. (especially now that my tank is in the third phase). I was dosing half of what the guide said, and it was still wayy too much for my system. Things are great now though. I've got a browned-out acro that I picked up a month ago, and I'm starting to get some crazy color out of it. There's lots of guys on this board that can do that without zeovit. In my tank, they always just turned brown before I got my nutrients sorted out.... Now I *think* I know what I'm doing. 12 years of reefkeeping, and I'm still learning from guys that have had a tank for 2-3 years!

I've also filled one half of my tank with clams. There's a lot to be said for clams taking up nutrients.

All-in-all, I'm very pleased with the zeovit. I get a great deal of support from other z-heads. If something's wrong, they steer me in the right direction and help out a lot.

Good luck with the prodibio. It looks as if you're going to choke out the bryopsis with acropora growth first! :)
 
hey travis & lunch, i had the acro flat worms about 6 months ago. dereck pointed them out to me and showed me what the eggs looked like. there are pics somewhere here on r/c that shows the size of them. i got rid of them by chucking the corals in the garbage. dont do that. use the levemisol treatment and go out and get fluke tabs for freshwater ponds. a friend has had better luck with the fluke tabs than the levemisol. levemisol just stuns the flat worms and then you have to swish them off the coral. i guess the fluke tabs kill the flat worms. i will try and get more info for you on the fluke tabs and the dosage to use.
 
Ewan - glad you have great results. i just can't justify putting that much money in a dosing system for my tank. i've heard the z-people are great help.

you have a tone of clams? i LOVE clams but got rid of them as they had pinched mantle disease...i lost all three :( :( i'd love to pics some up again. got a pic of you tank?

i doubt i will choke it out w/ acros i wish it wpred that way. hope the Prodibio helps...ordering tomorrow!

i don't have AEFW's...that i know of. i've seen no signs. Travis has been doing the treaments on his.

I'm running Purigen in my tank 24/7 for the past month or so to assist with nutrient export (I also have bryopsis, ugh), and was wondering where you got the above information as I've never heard of Purigen causing coral bleaching? Is it because the water clarity is improved and the corals see more light? Not sure, just guessing. As an aside, I haven't noticed any bleaching of my bryopsis as a result of the Purigen. Thanks, and by the way, your corals are looking great!
 
i didn't notice purigen making the bryopsis lighten either.

don't remember the thread i read about that in. do a search for my name and purigen...might come up w/ it

Hey Lunch did you ever try AZno3 ??

I haven't, but 2 of my friends did and it took care of there bryopsis problem. I know it sounds to good to be true but I have seen the proof.
 
arconom - no i haven't used that. my NO3 is undetectable thought??? i think my bro-in-law used it before

i'm trying the marine clean (biodigest and bioptium) supposed to lower nitrate, po4, etc. i dont' have either that i can test but it is supposed to get rid of nussance algae and sedimate. i dosed already. i'm gonna dose 1x/wk instead of 1x/every other week. it is recommended if you have a dirty tnak to do it every week. mine isn't dirty but the bryopsis needs a kick

the reefbooster won't be dosed for quite a few weeks as it might fuel the bryopsis for now. i'll wait 6weeks or more..it is supposed to be potent

Lunch, those things are glass? You snap them open like those stink bombs from days passed, I assume.

nebraska - yeah they are glass. w/ nitrogen in there i think..if i remember hearing right. they are TINY. i got the pack of 30 and it is about the size of a 10pack of 3.5" floppy disks. i was expecting (from the pics id seen) a box about the size of a 25pack of cd's. guess that was just my perception from the pics

Where are you guys getting info on probidio? Is there a primer on it somewhere? For whatever reason, the proxy here at work is blocking google!
 
Just go to robsreef.com and look for his forums, and enter the Prodibio forum to see what has been discussed there. That site also sells the product, and as far as I know it is the only vendor in the U.S. that does.
