lyretail anthias changing

I purchased 10 female, an 1 male lyretail anthias from DD about 4 months ago.
All fish are thriving.

about 2 months ago, I noticed one of the females had changed to a male (seamed overnight, but i dont spend a huge amount of time in front of the aquarium)

Within the last week, I noticed yet another female had changed into a male.

I now have 8 females and three males.

The males dont seam to tangle too much.....they dont spend much time together, and they keep the females in check but.......
I was under the impression that there would only be ONE male unless the dominant male died.
What gives?

I think in larger tanks this happens, although I've never heard of it specifically happening with lyretails.

Big tank = multiple males. Shouldn't be an issue. IME, if they changed on their own in the tank, there is enough space/females to go around.

Thanks for the input.
I have to admit.....the males out shine the females in terms of beauty. I was worried they would end up destroying each other. Doesnt seam to be the case.
