lyretail anthias

I bought 4 lyretail anthias. all are females and juviniles. will one eventually become a male?? I really want a male with my group

evntually yes you will have a dominant female that will become male. but then one of the female will become teh dominat female wich will be the next one to become male is the male dies

One will become male, but if you would like to have a male with a harem I would recommend you get 4 more females if they are still available. Otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if 2 or 3 of your females perish by the time everyone agrees who the boss is.

Got them from FAOIS. cweges... they are growing nicely!

Must have just gotten them because I was in there last week and they only had 1 I think!!

I had a little problem last week adding a new angel to my tank that my CB had to KILL. Maybe after my tank recoupes from the ammonia spike I will try some anthias. Those are really nice looking fish!

I got them a couple months ago.. He gets a mess of the in once a month I think

Went in there today and there is 1 lonely guy left!! Poor little guy..

one of 4 females has gone thru the "change of life" went on vacation and came back to a new fish nin the tank. cool stuff

I originally bought 1 male with 3 females. 2 of the females died after about 2 weeks which left me with 1 male 1 female.

I never saw them for sale again until about 6 months later. So I bought 5 more females. So far only one has died and all the rest seem very happy.

So currently I have 1 male and 5 females. I enjoy them very much, but the definitely have an organized social structure. And the male is constantly doing the "dance" around all the females to make sure they all know he's the boss and don't change. Very fun to watch!

Usually do best singly, unless 1 male / 7+ females.

Also need quite mature tank. Would wait quite a while after ammonia settles down
