MACNA 2011 Trip Report

20 bucks huh! I at least tried to sound realistic and said 50 haha. I got a big electric blue derasa and a watermelon RBTA. Unfortunatly though, the Derasa didnt make it. :-( The guy from reefkoi said he didnt think it would make it but I was welcome to give it a try and if it died he'd give me my money back so I think that was pretty nice of him. I really wish it made it though, I have been looking for a big blue clam for at least 4 years :-(

post a pic of the unknown green ORA, you may have gotten the new unreleased one that I described in the first post. I can ID it for you.

MBasile - ya I saw that clam and it was a goner. Hope you get your money back, because there is no way I would have dropped cash on it.

realistically, I spent $300 on corals and about $100 on dry goods.

For sure, i will try and get it up tomorrow! I have been saving for the past 6months, i knew i wanted a few choice things.... A FEW I SAY! The rest was the girl being like... "OH THIS ONE IS CUTE".... rly?!?!?!? :deadhorse1:
 
Too bad, you didn't get your info to me, you could have met the other CMAS peeps there!

I was debating to take the new green ORA or the joe the coral. I went with the joe because the new one will table and need lots of space.

yup on both accounts.
fire loves the orange/rust colors.

It can also work with tunze's and mp40's

I will be doing more photos of it later. Its just awesome to have a "cove" rather than a wall of rocks piled up.

Just wait till you guys see the next tank :)

YA! I didnt see you guys were meeting up till i checked the phone the day after. Ohhhh well there is always Dallas next year ;) Are you going to the CMAS one in a month or so?
 
$20??? har har har... yea, i spent around $500 on corals and dry goods. Me and my current beau went to the casino Friday night and he won $500 on his second spin. I won $30. Sadly, he thinks this hobby is ridiculous so he didnt share his wealth. I'm thinkin him and I aren't gunna last =)

oooh lord... i know i wasnt the girl saying anything was cute....

HAHA sureeeee! She wasn't like that, but might as well been! I was laughing my *** off when i overheard this lady looking at corals and the guy asks her if shes looking for anything specific... her response, "Im looking for something with lots of color" HAHA I bust out laughing, shes looking at 100 different rainbow acans you dont get much more color then that.

Was that on Sunday towards the end?

Cause I was watching and hearing this older false blond woman buy things, asking some super silly questions and saying she only likes things with bright colors... I butted in and said I prefered brown and tan....REAL REEFERS DO BROWN.... she seemed to believe me... she bought a kenya tree next.






j/k.. but was it the over tanned blond handbag skin lady? She was cooky with $$

btw- in my ten years, I've heard men say equally stupid things.

She was a ultra blonde, wearing a red dress when i was by her. By far the best thing i heard when i was there. haha I think we are talking about the SAME exact girl. There was another one roaming around working deals like crazy, she was quite sassy but knew her corals so it seemed. I was roaming the whole time making friends. For all i know i meet most of you and didnt even know it. Went out friday with a group of people from Nebraska, Saturday i felt like hell. Bad idea bringing my own case of beer to the swap Friday. haha.
 
ummm im about 100% sure i am the sassy girl you are referring to. long brown haair and kinda chesty, and definitely know my corals... i am nicknamed Sassy. Oh yea, and i was with a freakishly tall skinny guy that didn't talk and just followed me around. =) he didnt care to learn or ask questions. lame-o

Oh yea.. where have I been all your life? In Iowa... looking for a reefin boyfriend with moooola for a biiig reef tank!

We are talking about the same ultra blond woman, i am sure of it. But I remember calling zoas cute too.. and well, they still kinda are, the pink ones at least....

Haha that was her for sure! I wanted to follow her around for some good laughs.

That might have been you, i was checking out some chalice by the acan lighting and she was saying how it wasnt the chalice he said so i figured i would double check on the phone and i showed her. if that rings a bell it was you!
 
btw-... what r all u guys gunna do with ur free marineland led's? They do too little to use for actinic suppliment and too much for moon lights....
