Read about the par/pur thing about a year ago in a forum or article. I'll see if I can track it down.

Were you able to find this info? I am still so confused by my LEDs. The registered PAR values are laughably low but it seems to cook any lower light coral. I have had a frag disc with about 6 rics on t for months. They slowly migrated towards the edges of the disc and one dropped off. I assumed they were not getting enough light in the shady spot they were in. I moved them out from the shady spot into the direct light. 48hrs later and they were all jelly.

We have now learned that you cannot use a PAR meter to read LED's. They will under read the number. You get much more PAR than what is coming through the PAR meter for your LEDs.
