MACNA 2014 - AZ Gems

Figured I'd start a thread to show what the locals got in Denver last week at MACNA. There was a significant number of us there and it took two tables at the banquet to seat us all. I witnessed many corals being bought and placed in the sold section for AZ reefers.
I enjoyed the booths with all the neat reef keeping tools and specialized foods that were new. I have already used some of the food with great results.

Please post up any pictures you have from the show along with new corals. JP

A couple of corals I bought.

I will get some better pictures after they settle down a little and get some of their color back. In total I have 9 new corals and even bought a fish there. First time I brought home corals on a plane and they seemed to do OK. JP

Great scores and photos Jeff!!!
Unfortunately I had to hold back on getting any livestock :( I invested my funds on the Masked Angel :)

Looking to forward on everyone's gems!

Nice pics, Jeff!

I didn't get any corals...but, this is the one I wanted. It was at the Cherry Corals booth. $800.00 on Friday...lowest price was $500.00 on Sunday.

Probably the sexiest plate coral I've ever seen!

That CC plate and the Carolina Aquatics plates were out of this world...and out of our price range.

I can't tell you how many times I said, "I'm not buying any livestock at MACNA." I really wanted to let my new tank settle in a bit longer but the temptation was too high and the company I associated with apply too much peer-pressure. I crumbled.

Most of this stuff should look better in a few weeks because they've traveled a lot but I figure there's no harm in sharing some pictures now.

We picked up these two plates, both of which look much better in person:

We also picked up some zoas, some of which are still settling in and opening up. Hopefully they all make it -- we've had hit-and-miss luck with zoas.

Some of the names I can remember from that group: Pink Utters, Leprechauns, Acid Reflux, GoWs, and Buttmunchers (yes, that's really the name).

Close-up of a blasto that I'm pretty excited about. This picture doesn't do much for it, hopefully it also settles in:

Trying some branching hammers -- have had poor luck with wall hammers. One splatter and one yellowish/green one:

Picked up an Elite Aquatic's acclimation box and figured, why not break it in with some new fish!

Told you, we crumbled. Fun times though!

Great pics. I wish I could have seen more. I had to work a booth this year which was still fun.
