MACNA item purchase question

I am looking to purchase a few items at MACNA this weekend, a skimmer, T5 lights, etc. Should I wait until Sunday to purchase these? Do they give discounts on the last day? I really need a new good quality skimmer. What do you MACNA veterans think?

Obviously I will be buying livestock and corals on Friday to get first pick of the litter

It's going to be a catch 22 situation. Vendors only bring so much stock with them. If sells before Sunday, they are sold out and happy. If it hasn't sold by Sunday they are looking to get rid of it cheaper so that they don't have to back it pack up and ship it home. So by waiting you might get a real good deal, or you might get skunked.

Last year I had a shopping list of hardware I wanted to buy and I believe I only found one of the items I wanted. The only people really selling were the coral vendors. It seems like most of the good stuff on display was from the manufacturers, and they wouldn't sell direct to me. In some cases, I tried to buy their display units, but they wanted to sell the entire tank display as one sale rather than selling just a skimmer or just a pump. With that said, it looks like there are several retailers with booths this year (Salty Supply, Aquarium Specialty, Premium Aquatics, BRS). I think I got an email from Salty saying they were offering 15% off orders placed at their booth, and I would expect similar deals from the others.

My advice is this, if you see something you really want and have the $ Buy it! We will have over 1500 attendees. What are your odds the frag you want will be there all weekend.

Most good vendors will hold your purchased till Sunday if needed.
