MACNA XIX - Sept 14 - 16 - Who's going?! (And what it is)

Here's something that may affect people that are comming into the airport late in the evening:

PITTSBURGH -- Drivers who frequent the For Pitt Tunnels will face detours beginning on Monday.

The inbound lanes of the tunnel will be closed nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday morning.

The closures are necessary as Pennsylvania Department of Transportation crews replace stainless steel plates that run down the center of the tunnel ceiling.

The plates were significantly damaged on July 13, 2006, by an unknown over-height vehicle traveling through the tunnel. The damage occurred to 70 steel plates covering about 560 feet of the inbound tunnel ceiling.

Traffic will be detoured at the tunnels onto Route 51 to the West End. Signs will be posted.

The detour will only take a few minutes but just expect it.

This is going to be my first Macna so I went on out and bought a new book to read on the way there. :D

When I went to MACNA in Louisville, KY, everyone told me I had to go to this one particular LFS, and so I did. It was fun.

Is there one in Pittsburgh that should not be missed?

Did someone say ffffree drinks?
Crap the last time I was offered that................well lets just say way too much of a good thing can be very bad LOL.
I think I better order up some bloody mary's for early saturday morning.

Thanks. I wanted to know what your top choice would be. Now we just have to figure out where it is versus where the hotel is. Maybe Friday morning would be a good time to visit the store before the conference begins.

id REALLY like one of those. iv always wanted to do that to take a top shot but the surface current always messed it up. now ill have to put in some tickets for that lol

I really like Aquaworld. I spoke to the owners when I was at the store and they said they were attending also, so you should be able to meet them then. There normal hours are 10 to 10 daily. They are a bit of a drive from Monroeville, but Goggle the directions from the hotel before you leave. There are others closer but the selection isn't as good. IMPO!!!!!

I did my online check in tonight, everything is good to go, I did see that it said High Speed internet charges may apply. Is that true or is there free wireless access in the hotel.

Just so you know, you might want to bring a jacket. Saturday's high is mid 60's and the low is mid 40's.

No, there is free wireless in the hotel. I wonder if it is not a general disclaimer put in because not all Radisson's have free wireless.
