In case you have heard the 21st Annual Marine Aquarium
Conference of North America (MACNA) is being held in
Atlantic City, New Jersey this September 25-27.

MACNA is the oldest and largest Marine Aquarium Conference
in the US and has been bringing together vendors, manufacturers,
hobbyists, researchers and educators since 1988.

It is an excellent opportunity to expand your horizons, see new
product launches before they hit the market, and learn
from some of the greatest speakers in the industry.

The speaker schedule is filling in, with just a couple more names left to finalize.

The exhibitor list can be found HERE and the current vendor map HERE.

Hopefully we'll see you in Atlantic City!

Almost showtime alright! And it should be quite a show.

I've heard tell of some great things on the show floor from the give-aways of promotional items to daquiries to games and other fun stuff (did someone say mermaid?!).

The speakers, the workshops, the raffles.

The countdown has begun and we'll be ready all nearly 1000 people that will be arriving in Atlantic City for the show (and all of you procrastinators who haven't registered yet)!

Thanks to all who were there. It was a great weekend surrounded by great friends. The support of our vendors, the fantastic speakers and the all of the attendees who came made the event a great success!

We were happy to have hosted and are already thinking of the things we can fine tune for (dare I say it) next time!

Great Job New Jersey!

Great Job New Jersey!

The New Jersey Reefers Club did an outstanding job running MACNA this year.

Pre-conference communication and communication during the event was on the mark. The venue was great with the speaker room well laid out including the large screens installed half way back to relay the visuals to those in the back. Speakers were once again excellent with presentations well mixed between fish and coral presentations. The exhibition floor was well laid out with the raffle area in the middle. Bringing the workshops back to the exhibition floor was also well appreciated as everyone could attend the workshops unlike some previous MACNAs.

MACNA is a great opportunity to hear, learn, and speak to fellow marine and reef hobbyists. This was our fifth MACNA in a row - we are already signed up for next year's MACNA in Orlando.

Thanks again to the New Jersey crew - you did a great job.

Wow I just joined here and missed this?! It's 20 minutes from my house!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa:sad2::sad2::sad2:

They were a combination of NJRC members and their family members.

Ah ok, I've been in the hobby for many years and was very excited to be there. But I was a little shocked with the lack of professionalism and attention from the staff up front. My wife and I stood there for at least 15 minutes with no one in line before anyone even looked our way. Most seemed to just sit there and when we asked for information, we had the "brush off attitude". Everyone pretty much ignored us and with that type of treatment, we almost left the show. Then picking up the corals, the guy who escorted us, appeared very snotty. I won't get into more details, but overall...the show ended up being really good, the vendors were very nice and helpful.

Just wanted to give a little feedback based on our experience to help future shows.

Our experience at the front booth was positive. The daughter of an organizer served us. She had a little trouble finding our registration packages and needed some help from an NJRC member. We did come in to the registration area the day before the event started so everyone was still fresh.

This is our fifth MACNA in a row and as I wrote earlier, we found NJRC did an excellent job. No complaints other than we did not win any of the monster RO/DI units at the raffle (but we did win some Seachem test kits and Caribsea substrate).

Our experience with the MACNA Orlando team was also positive at the show. They did a great job explaining next year's event as well as gave useful vacation advice for Orlando/Miami/Florida Keys. We signed up for MACNA 2010 at the show.
