macreefsters 70g pic thread...

thanks, achilles. i'm certainly not a coral identification expert, but whatever it is i like it! i have an oregon and cali tort and after comparing them more closely i don't think it's a tort afterall. so maybe it's a hoke.... even though i don't know what that is...lol

hopefully this is a better shot of it.... its a nice coral, i think you need a piece in your system sonny :)

Its a nice piece. ;)

After looking around it looks like it its in fact a Hoki. I would love a frag if possible. Im sure we can work something out. ;)

sounds good to me, sonny.... i can get about a one inch frag off of it easily enough. it's held its color up very well even down near the bottom of the tank. not sure you have anything worthy to trade for it though.....LOL. (thats obviously a joke!)

not sure if it shows up well in the pic..... but i can't believe how clear the water is. never thought being a bartender to my reef would be so fun...lol.

Glad the Vodka is working out for you. Your corals will love you even more once the bacteria get there. The corals eat them up! :D

Lovely tank (added to my favorites to give me inspiration once I start my own build)! I really like the aquascaping, the corals and the choice of fish! Do you have a build thread? It might stop me peppering you with questions you've probably answered many times already.;)

wow...thanks so much for the kind words, escaped ape. no, i don't have a build thread as i only just found RC right after setting my tank up....and ended up re-buying a lot of equipment once reading about all the great tanks here! feel free to ask whatever you want, i'll try to answer. mostly i've just emulated many of the guys here at the site.

Apologies for the delay in replying. Work got busy and I ended up getting back home late every night. No time for RC...

I could ask all sorts of questions, but I'll start with a really basic one. What are the dimensions on your tank? Your aquascaping makes it work really well.

thanks payyourtoll.....the hoki seems to be a hit. heres a blue stag that i think i like even better. not sure if the pic shows it, but its a much brighter blue than the hoki.

no need to apologize ape. my tank dimensions are 3'x2'x20"ht. i find shallow tanks with good depth work well for aquascaping.

thanks spleify. if the pics looks decent it must due more to the camera than the photographer as i'm still trying to figure it out!

fish say hey....i'm using an octopus 200 dnw and its working out great for me. i am jonesing for that new bk/vertex cone skimmer though.
