Macro algae in "high flow" area

Ok so I'm still pretty new here and am doing ok in keeping my fish tank healthy, with the exception of some slime algae. I have my chaeto in the bottom of my tank anchored by a small piece of rock, is this the ideal place, until i buy a refugium? Or can I put it in the extra chamber in my reef octo bh-100f so it gets more water circulation through it?

I would leave it in the tank for now, mine grew fastest when it was tumbling in the high flow of the fuge.
