Macro pictures

I recently purchased a good tripod and remote shutter control for my DSLR. I can't believe how much difference it makes on photos. Started using photo bucket as conduit to posting them here. I'm still playing with all the settings in manual mode so feedback is greatly appreciated. Jeff

I think those are lovely.

It's like looking at something alien.. Can't wait to get some stuff in my own tank!

Looking pretty good for your first attempts, for sure.

A couple bits of advice, turn off your pumps for 5 minutes or so before taking photos.
Take your pictures perpendicular to the front glass of the tank.
Use as low of an ISO as possible.
Use a tripod.
Get as close to the subject as you can, to minimize cropping or digital zooming later.
Shoot in RAW and white balance in your photo editing software.

Just a few helpful hints.

Caps, using a 100mm canon maco. Was just looking at some other posts with pictures that make mine look gross. I can see lots of room for improvement.
