Macro Shots- 1st attempt

I decided to see what kind of aquarium shots I could get with my old Olympus Stylus 740 point and shoot. Here's the raw, out of the camera results. I was pretty pleased since I had no clue what I was doing.

First attempts? Nice. I like the first shot best.

Your pics are all at f3.3, which renders a very shallow depth of field (distance from focal plane that items are still in focus). I suggest increasing your fstop value to gain greater DOF. You'll need to either decrease your shutterspeed (use a tripod), or bump up your ISO to compensate.

HAHAHA me neither, I was clueless when I first got mine.

But you got to do trial and error.

what I noticed is that, within the few inches of elevation in my tank, I have to change all of my settings. Because it's closer to the light. Exposure, F, ISO, Shutter but it will become second nature.

I'm still learning though... shooting the surface of water at an angle isn't easy.
