Madrin died

My Mandrin died he was fine for 2 years . He developed what looked like blisters on both side of his dorsal fins and died in 2 days. I had a long tentacle anonme that died before him. Do you think the anonme tried to eat him? I searched everywhere for an answer with no answer. I was feeding the anonme once a week 3/8 X 3/8 inch frozen food it was in my tank atleast 21/4 years. Thanks for any thoughts, Jim

At this point, there's no way to tell fom such sketchy details. Photos would also help.

However, I think that if the mandarin coexisted with the LTA for 2 years, it knew to avoid it. If the LTA stung the mandarin, the mandarin was probably already sick.

Stinging a mandarin would not have killed the anemone, however. I would spend some time doing a nice big water change (pH, salinity and temo matched) and running tests on all your parameters. Also check for stray voltage and malfunctioning equipment.

Just to add a note. I had a Spotted Mandarin as well for about 2 1/2 years and he must have died over the weekend because he is nowhere to be found. I searched every where. He did get some spots on the end of his fins about 6 months ago but then all was well after that 6 months. Or so I thought. :(

Thanks for replies I have the ground probe to elimnate stray voltage. I'll check it to see if its working . Water changes it has been . Mylo, I now have a flasher wrasse missing in my tank. I did have a magenta dottyback that I found stuck in a hole in one of the rocks. With it's stomach torn that could have been what happened to your Mandrin. Thanks Jim

One day i went to a lfs and i saw a green spotted mandarin. Its cheeks and body were all pinched in, i felt bad paid $15.00 took him home to try and feed him. I tried live blood worms, mysis, live brine, cyclopeeze, flake anything... didnt eat died 2 days ago. Now i know i am not going to try and fix life. $15.00 down the tube. atleast the mandarin died in peace in my home rather then the ****ty OK kept lfs.
