Mag 18 for 29 g

i have a mag 18 that produces 1800gph the tank is 5' higher than the sump i am in the process of doing. sump is 10 gal, is there any way i could use the pump for this 29 gal euro???? any help would be appreiciated

seems like a bit much to me. I had a mag 18 with a head of 6' and it was a bit too much in the old 75. now that I have a bit more sps was thinking about maybe trying an 18 again with a ball valve to turn down the flow a bit. but that would be in a 75 gallon with a 55 sump

you could put a ball valve on it but be sure that there is some type of a t that returns to the sump before it so there isnt a ton of back pressure on the pump
