Mag on the move - should I worry

I got my Clarkii's an H. Magnifica so they would leave my Duncans alone.
I have had him about 10 days. He is eating and well extended and the clowns are enjoying his hospitiality.
I started him at the bottom of my tank, knowing he will find his 'happy place'.
Well, this AM his 'happy place' is on top of a micromussa and an acan colony.
How long can he stay there with out doing permanent damage to them?
How can I persuade him to move if needed?

You should have put him where you think he need to be. High under your light, flat rock with pleny of water movement. Coral will sting anemone and anemone will sting coral. You need to separate them ASAP because both are getting hurt.

I think it is illogical for you to put him "...at the bottom of my tank, knowing he will find his 'happy place'"

That Magnifica will definetly sting that coral and probably kill it. Try to manually move him if possible.

Put him high and under good light and moderate to strong flow.

Flow and light is where his happy spot will be.

Also, make sure the rock is isolated and far enough away from the wall of the tank. If the mag can "feel" the wall, it will try to climb up. I honestly think they can never have too might light and they will always search for the highest possible perch in the tank. If they know they can't move up, have ample lighting and flow, they typically stay put, UNLESS your water parameters aren't ideal. They'll start to wander if your nitrates are elevated.

I appreciate all the advice.
I removed the 2 acans and the micromussa that the mag had covered.
So far the acans are open and the mag still seems happy where he is.

This.

My Mag is currently sitting atop his own rock ziggurat, 6 inches under 3 Kessil A360s with a Vortech pointed right at him. I found him wandering the walls of the tank a few times before I got the rock work far enough away from the wall so that he couldn't "feel" it.

My favorite trick to get a Mag back to where I want it if it is scaling the walls of the tank is to use a large flat magnetic frag racks, positioned vertically right next to the anemone. At some point it will wander far enough onto the rack, at which point it can easily moved back to where I want it without risking any damage to the base.

I use a thin spatula and remove then at times. Works really well. The thinner the better.

Thanks for all the tips. Learning a lot here.
My wife thinks nems on the walls look cool.
What can I use as reasons we do NOT want them on the glass?

They look better on the Reef blowing in the flow. Plus an ugly foot facing you is not very appealing.

dude, seriously don't leave it on the glass. sooner or later it'll be chopped by your powerhead. should it happen, the wife won't think it cool at all
