Does anyone have at least a Mag9.5 that they are selling right now. It seems that one of our dogs decided the cord was going to be their new chew toy. Luckily is wasn't hooked up or anything yet so everyone is still alive, but now I am out a pump for setup.

You can always strip the lines and buy a replacement tool cable at Home depot... Unless he chewed more than the cord...

Sure... Its really pretty simple... It should be color coded even... Just make sure that the exposed wire isn't submerged or you use some kind of liquid electric tape... You can either use connectors or a soldering iron if you're really fealing froggy... lol

he chewed the wire very close to the base of the pump. so when it is setup it will definitely be submerged. I will look for some liquid electrical tape.

You should be able to find a submersible splice kit at Roden or Shields Electronics or one of the electrical supply houses. I wouldn't depend on water-repellant electrical tape in a coral setting. But since this introduces a possible failure point, be sure you have a GFCI receptacle or breaker as the power source for this pump (should be what all of us have, anyway).

If you are looking for a pump, though, I still have an old Mag 12 pump I don't need that I could let go cheap, but you'd need to buy a new impeller and live with a slight leak because of a couple of stripped screws on the housing (not a problem in submersible setting).
