Magnifica or crispa

Saw this guy at the LFS today and the salesman talked me into buying him before I really knew much about him. All he said is that it is a purple tip anemone. Can any one ID it for me?

I have been reading that the white color is not a good sign and would like to know how to help him get better. I tried feeding it a small piece of silver side today but he didnt take it so spot fed some mysis and it took a while but he ate a little of them. Also he has not attached yet but it kind of leaning against the rock. Tentacles are sticky and his foot is sticky as well.

Lighting is 4x54w T5HO and one 96 watt PC in a standard 75 gallon. I was told this would be sufficient light for him as well.

I have a LTA that is doing great under these lights but I think they require less lighting.

Any info or care tips would be helpful. I have been reading up all day about the two.

Looks like a Crispa to me. Pretty normal coloration too - doesn't look bleached. Just give it time to acclimate to your system and don't force feed it.

This is another pic of it in a white bucket during the drip cycle. Shows the tan coloration. Just all the other pics I have found show a darker brown/tan color.

Also, can anyone give me the name of this anemone? I was just told LTA. Is that the specific name or a broad name for it?

probably a run of the mill GBTA (bubble tip anemone)

I think that is a lta,most btas I've seen only have a few white lines around the mouth,also is the foot buried under the sand.

Yeah it is buried in the sand. Normal to have the short tentacles around the edge?

Have you tried feeding yet,it's tentacles will get longer.When an anemone is starved their tentacle get real short like the one you have.

Started feeding the small one silver sides about 2 weeks ago. It has really expanded since then and seems happier but still has the short tentacles.

The H. Crispa is not doing so well. It has shrunk to half its size and tentacles have shrunk as well and some are limp. I have tried feeding small bits of silverside but it wont take it. Also tried spot feeding mysis shrimp with a baster. Wont take those. Its mouth is hanging open. Has not moved around the tank and still isnt latched on to anything.

Picked up a 6x54w T5HO light with new ATI bulbs yesterday. Upgraded from my 4x54w T5HO cheap fixture with 36" PC supplement.

The Crispa seems to like these lights alot better. He has seemed to perk up and responds well now. Mouth is still open but he ate a small piece of silverside and some mysis shrimp yesterday. No deflating or sickly look except the open mouth.

The small LTA that was in the same spot for about 2 months moved away from the Crispa the other night. Do you think maybe they were competing since they were only about 6-8" from each other?
