mail order sps brown but pics were coloufull

For some reason the small branching ,small coralite mille like thoes do that a lot big e. At least in my experience. Some are actually colored really cool but most take a while to get going and do change colors no matter if I blast them with light and good water parameters or not. Given I have not got one that was fresh from the farm and completely healthy yet and that may have something to do with it. It is funny how a lot of vendors call stressed corals rainbows. Some even call two colored average corals rainbows. There are a number of decent maricultures being sent over but you just gotta weed through the average everyday ones.

Op I would blast them with light if you aren't running leds, if you are running leds maybe someone who collects a lot of maricultures and runs leds will help. The red mille seem to really like or need a lot of light for me to keep any good color.

Star .BigE and Piper
I got home yesterday and there was a message from them saying i was playing games and if i wanted a refund i had to send them back at my cost another 50euro's and if they were alive and well they would consider a refund ,the coral frags were 59euro's each and 49 euro's shipping total 167 . He stated that my lights being leds were an issue ????yet they had not been in my tank i previously sent him a fts of my tank stating my lighting is 2 x Orphek V3 and a radion pro and i had to wait 1-2 weeks and if still brown he would give me a full refund so 2 weeks layer still brown so i requested the refund to be messed about further .To cut a long story short i have contacted my bank and sent all his emails and on advise telling him to collect the corals and they will proceed with the dispute .
Star - yes it was the company you mentioned
my tank pics sorry about the quality it was the time of day

Hopefully your bank helps out til the end. On the other hand it's pretty nice of them to offer a refund although you would have to pay to ship them back. They probably do this often knowing not many people will do it. I have seen a few friends who use leds struggle with maricultures and color. I would guess the white bulbs stress the coral tissue and need aclimation periods, but I am not an led user.
By the way Maxwell your tank is a slammer, well done.

Hi satin
I purchased them from a well known german site who now tells me I'm playing games and that I should return them and if they are alive when he receives them he will refund. It will cost me 50 euro! To return them and I made the point that one coral had dead tissue on it when it arrived as algae had grown over it.Today they are still browned out as receive so I contacted again asking for a refund to be told playing games and lighting at fault when they arrived like that.I asked the same questions on a UK site in general reefing showing all pics and a well known dealer replied saying the same they were shipped browned out and may or may not come back but will take months, I paid 167 euros for rubbish .I have put it in the hands of the bank and paypal as a dispute who have advised me to tell them to collect them at their cost I will just have to wait and see now. Many thanks to all the reefers who have responded with advise and opinions.

I had similar experience but with another famous German Company , link http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2598728 funny how almost all of those so called famous Company use similar explanation /is alway our lighting or our tank condition even corals come diferent during shipping/ and if you wont your Money back you need to return the corals what is more or less for most of us imposible to do and will cost more then corals.
I folow some of them and they do things like that very often recently.
I think if they work in USA they will be down in no time.

WHAT the bank says is send them an email to collect the items you have received as they are not as described on the website , the bank will recover your money , do the dispute by email and forward all the Mails between you and them also send them a screen shot of the advertised coral and what you have received.I don't know what the outcome will be yet as I'm going through the process I will update the thread when there has been any progress if any.

I give up , all issues with those payment need to go via paypall and paypall policy is to First refund the Products to the seller in this case, because for me is not posible to refund the corals /diferent country, no ups Office in my town, shipping will cost few hundreds euro and after they receive the corals they simply can drop them in freshwater and told corals die in transit/ so i give up.

What we buy from those Companies are in First place just pictures, nothing else, corals are stressed, taken out and placed in different egg crate for pictures /if you noticed egg crate are always clean white, that will be no posible if egg crates are in aquarium so basicaly they use always new eggcrate (or washed) move the corals to take the picture and return, corals do not like that particulary if they was just ariwed from import day ago....
I am quite sure most of those corals will perish soon, in their aquarium or in customer aquariums, corals simply can not take so much moving, shipping, different paramters in short time, I noticed white corals regulary remove every client negativ comments from their FB page, there was many reclamation about doa corals, or doa next day... but all was removed, I asume FM do the same becuase there are only positive posts, negativ are all removed.

To top of that all those companies have same policies, if you receive damaged corals from them, you need to keep him in aquarium, take the picture Daily to show them how corals decline and after he die you need to take the picture of sceleton to receive not refund but new corals in next import, where you of course need to pay new corals and shipping. So basicaly you need to keep unhelthy , sick corals in your aquarium, posible spread disease to other corals to get refund in next shoping from them. My survival rate for acropora I buy from WC are 1 small frag lol, all other colonies are gone very quickly, most come damged in import and they told me to cut the corals to save him /lol yes that is the reason why I pay 120 euro for Australia sps to cut him in small pieces 10 minutes after ariwal)
Also what i notice most of those acropora from them can not survive strong light, asume that is because they keep them under uv, blue ,actinic... light to show the colours and when you put them under normal sps light they bleach very fast.

I think all those Companies are only for new inexpirienced reefer who can buy those crap when they receive corals from them. They just sell pictures for loots of Money.

I used to get a lot of stuff from Extreme Corals, and have had a few things from WhiteCorals/Nyos.

Whitecorals hardly replied to emails when you tried to use the "alive on arrival guarantie" that they boast about..

How ever my experience with ExtremeCorals, has always ben good, and they have always solved the problem, if i had any. Either replacing the coral, or giving a refund. I hope that their good service has not stopped, becaus i have a new system soon, that needs new corals :(

lol yes, they actualy replied to my e mail when I open paypall case, until then 4-5 days no reply from them, besides those Brown euphyllia what they send me instead of yellow I also received 1 Premium euphyllia /250 euro price tag / doa, decomposed during shipping, so for aprox 1000 euro /1200-1300 $ I get nothing. 1 doa euphyllia and 4 crappy Brown euphyllia...

Sps def does not brown out so quickly. Under poor conditions I have seen it take about 3 days.
The Vivid Rainbow is not a good example though because that one coral does have coloring issues. I have a fully colored tank, yet that one is now coloring after 6months. It was colored when I got and it was freshly cut that day.
Sometimes purples, blues, and reds can actually be brown, especially yellows and golds. If I see even a hint of brown, I pass. Brown is the new gold it seems, lol. I would acclimate slowly to the light and if your tank is colored, it will color also. Frustrating, I know.
Nice corals either way. Look at it this way, 4 months from now you will have another new coral...lol. Even colored up sps change in my tank and usually for the best.
