Just wondering how often others clean there equipment? I try to clean everything at least every couple months with the exception of my return pump which is cleaned probably every 4 months. I clean my skimmer every 6 but the collection cup once a month or so as needed. Powerheads are 2 months or so but one gets cleaned every month.

What is everyone else doing?

Powerheads every two months, main pump every 6 months. Skimmer cup once a week. Skimmer every 4 months

I have powerheads that I have not seen for 10 or 15 years. Maybe more, but they are still working so I don't want to see them

Every time I see you pop up, my mind goes off wondering about all the advancements you've seen over the years and the fads you've seen come and go. Besides the tank and stand, do you have anything else that is original? Also do you still have the beer bottle in the tank?

How do you guys clean your skimmer? Do you take it completely apart our just run vinegar through it?

I usually run it in a bucket with vinegar for a few hours then pull it apart and wipe it all down and clean the pump. The cup i just wash with water in the sink.

flow pumps every 6 months (mp40 and maxspect), That all I have other than return Reeflo Snapper which i havent done in 4 years but know better. Thinking of doin it soon as ive noticed a reduction in flow

Besides the tank and stand, do you have anything else that is original? Also do you still have the beer bottle in the tank?

There are about 9 bottles in the tank someplace, most are hard to find as they are encrusted all over the place. The only other thing original is the reverse UG filter, the Diatom filters, a couple of Eheim's and maybe some of the powerheads are from the 80s.
