Majano Anemones.

I have heard that Majano anemones are bad for your system. I was wondering why they are bad and how to get rid of them? I have quite a few of them in my tank and they are quickly spreading.

That's what's wrong with them. They spread everywhere, crowd out and kill corals, and take over your tank. They are hard to get rid of.
Joe's Juice is a product you can buy to try to kill them, but I think that it may work better with Aiptasia.
A LFS in our area has a large display that was just covered with Majano. After trying several things that didn't work, he added a few large butterfly fish; they cleaned up the majano in just a few days.

Yes, it's true. That's the point of adding them if you have a tank full of corals or anemones that you want to get rid of. For my LFS it was a choice between tearing down the tank and throwing out all the live rock, or removing as many corals as he could, getting the butterfly's to eat the Majano and save the LR, and turning this display into a butterflyfish tank.

the best butterfly to get are kleins and raccoons but like stated above are not reefsafe

I finally had enough and bought both luckily I have a fowlr so I am moving rock back

and forth and they are going to work on it slowly but surely they seem to like the

aptasia better but do eat both ...if you have aptasia youi can use a copperband and

they are reef safe

I just need to figure out how to get rid of them. I have also heard some people have gotten rid of them by burning them off the rock and then scraping them off. I never really noticed how many had until I started looking for them. I have 13 and I would like to have 0. Thanks for your help.

if all you have is 13 thats not really that bad try this and keep on top of them if they come back just keep using this product when ever you see any new ones and you should be ok just don't let them get out of control because it can happen really fast.
