Majestic Angel in a Reef

I'm strongly considering a Majestic angel for my SPS reef. I'm wondering if anyone could provide some first hand experience with them and SPS. I have a local LFS that can get 2" juvis. It would be in my 100 gallon SPS dominant system. Now I know this tank will eventually be too small. However from my understanding they are one of the slowest growing adult Angels. I won't give the whole ordeal on how I'm going to upgrade to a larger system in a few years. I do have plans to re-home it. I imagine a 2" Juvi would do quite well for 2-3 years before becoming cramped.

I raised a majestic from 1 inch juvi color to a 8" long 14 year old in a 90 gallon. She did fine with corals until year two. In a week everyone of my LPS and colts were ripped apart. She just got cranky I guess. Didn't have any SPS except for Monti. which she also killed. Always planned on getting a bigger tank for it but never happened.

The bigger the tank the less likely the fish will be to kill any specific coral but any angel in the pomacanthus genus is going to nip at corals

I have a 110 mixed reef. The majestic went for my lps chalice zoas and short tentacle plates. Loved the fish but he ate more then he was worth. Mine was about 3 inch

I've had one for nearly 4 years. He doesn't bother anything. He ignores zoas, softies, LPS and SPS. He also doesn't bother any other fish.

I had a majestic for two years in my SPS tank and he never nipped at anything. I really miss that fish and am hoping to find a juvenile to add to my reef.

Once again, it's a Angel, so it can be hit or miss. They will be good for years and one day decide they have the taste for coral. It's always a gamble to put a Angel with coral.

Back in the late 80s I bought a navarchus and misjudge its size - he was way too large for the 750 liter tank I had back then. So I gave him to a friend who had a 2500 liter tank. The fish was doing OK in there, but out of sheer boredom he decided to shred all softies - just for the fun of it.
