that size tank should be fine,as long as the fish is alone.try to place a couple peices of rock in there to make it more homei.if your dosing ionic copper it will only need about 2 weeks or less.
By all means. For hiding places, I like pieces of PVC pipe or fittings. They will provide cover and won't react with any medications that you might need to use.
BTW, even with copper I would recommend a minimum of 4 weeks QT.
Four week quarantine should be the minimum. Make sure to monitor ammonia levels if you're not using an established biological filter ( such as a hang on filter or internal sponge filter). Use water changes to keep ammonia levels down if it becomes an issue ( I know it seems like a pain). My Majestic is very tough. He survived a temperature spike (92F) that killed a Flame Hawkfish and Starckii Damsel while all three were in quarantine.
