Majestic Angel Statistics

Hi All:
I know this is probably an extremely exhausted thread topic, but I am considering one in my 135 gallon LPS/Softie tank and am wondering if there are any statistics or polls on the fish not eating coral, nipping sometimes, or what corals they eat? Thank you in advance for any replies!

Don't feel that way. There're some updated spread sheets in the thread that list different angels and how reef safe they are based on experiences.

I would recommend not getting any angelfish apart from the cherub if you are concerned about corals.Unless you want to tear the whole tank apart trying to catch one when he finally decides he wants some softies for dinner,go ahead :)

Any angel is a risk no matter what, but the larger angels can become coral eaters the larger they get due to being underfed and not fed enough variety IMO

I plan on running a auto feeder if I do bite the bullet, I want to have a mix of angel preparations, spectrum pellets and spirulina flakes(think I spelt that all right). I have a fish trap so If anything does occur,I can trap the angel or put the target in a frag tank that I am planning on setting up

Fish traps usually work better in the directions than in real life. Make sure the auto feeder drops the food in the water so it sinks instead of floating until it is picked up by a overflow

Wow! You would think those would be an all you can eat buffet with any angel really, I guess you got lucky! How often do you feed your tank? What do you feed them?

I've had several. Most are pretty safe. Occasionally you'll get one that's a nipper. Only had them take out fleshy lps though.

I still really want one, but I have a hammer coral some colt coral and some leathers, zoanthids, mushrooms, and I am planning on adding some sps! I still want to know what davidfrances feeds and how often?

So, here's a photo of my 250DD and my Majestic Angel. I have had him since April of 2013:

You can see him with my Emperor and a Coral Beauty, as well as a Tusk, Coris wrasse, some PJ cardinals, fox face, rabbitfish, and PBT.

Here's another shot showing my sail fin tang, TB Blue Ring Angel. Not picture is a marine betta someplace in the rock work:

I feed my fish mostly a mix of NLS pellets once or twice daily. A few times a week I feed frozen mysid and plankton (krill)
