anyone keeping a Majestic Angel with a Regal angel.

I have a Regal and Would like to add a Majestic this weekend.

The Majestic will be smaller (3in) than the Regal (regal is 5in)

I have a sps dominated with Yellow leather, Spaghetti leather, pagoda cup coral and maze brain coral and a clam.

Will he be OK to add?

I have A regal and Majestic in my tank now. Ive had the regal for about two months. I added the majestic angel about three weeks ago. My regal is about 4 inches and the Majestic is almost 6 inches. they get along fine. At first the regal wanted to be mean, then realized that the Majestic is far larger. I also have a flame and potters angel. All four angels are in the same tank. They all get along, and bother nothing. I have SPS, open brains, Lobophyillia, Candy cane coral, clams, shrooms, a huge Duncan colony with over 65 heads, and many polyps. The only thing that gets picked at is my poccillopora. The Potters nips it once and a while, but nothing major.

I would add a majestic the is a little larger than your regal. As the regal will want to establish dominance.

I have a regal and majestic, i did it differently and added a smaller majestic. The regal spent about 20min flashing the majestic and then moved on. They get along decently, occasionally flashing each other, but for the most part they eat together at the clip and at feeding time and even swim along side each other.

dflad- I have heard so many different ways to add multiple angels. I have heard add at the same time, small ones first, large ones first. It can be really confusing. Especially since there is NO gaurantee that fish will get along. I guess the best thing to do is add the fish, and monitor closely. But I would not reccommend multiple angels, unless you have the time and dedication to resolve aggression problems if need be.

I too have a Regal and a Majestic. Had the Regal (approx 4 inches) first and then added a very small Majestic (approx 2.5 inches) and never has the Regal chased or nipped the Majestic. Maybe he thought the Majestic was a dwarf angel? lol..and yes your corals should be ok..only corals that the Regal demolished were my zoanthid colonies...thank God I only had two and both were generic zoos..lol

Well here's the new Majestic

the Regal could care less, hasnt messed with him at all

the purple tang has been finning him a little bit, but has eased off after a little while now.

That's funny, my Purple tang which loves to give EVERYONE a hard time paid no attention when I put my Majestic in the tank. The one that has been a real pain to my poor little Majestic has been my Flame Angel that's the same size as my Majestic. He doesn't realize that some day, he will be outsized by about 5 inches and then we'll see who gets punked. lol. For now, he has been chasing him around and won't let my Majestic leave a particular corner in the tank even thought the Majestic is eating everything which is a great sign. I just caught my Flame yesterday and let's just say he's in a "time out" for two weeks in my sump.

yeah teach the flame a lesson:lol:

the purple tried to keep him one corner for the first 5 min. then he moved on.

I had a multicolor in at the time I added the majestic, it was the same size as the majestic and just gave the majestic angel fits (chased incessantly), so i removed the multicolor.

I agree that multi angel tanks can be hard, but if you are very watchful it can usually work out. I think multiple tangs are much more difficult, but then again Im not a huge fan of tangs.

Good luck, the pygmy angels can be super aggressive.

I have a 9" emporer angel, a 8" scribbled angel, and a 6" personifer angel. The emporer is the boss- he frequently chases the others into the rockwork. I am not sure multiple large angels are ever a good idea.
