I have battled high nutrients in my tank for a year now. I moved a year ago and when I moved in my rodi broke and I had to use well water about 70 gallons of it and I didnt have a new rodi for several weeks due to an issue with a retail site. I ditched the sand 3 months ago and have dosed vodka , added several bacteria in a bottle products along with regular water changes about 100 to 125 gallons a month on a 150 gallon system. My phosphates are really through the roof now. The corals are all in another tank and have been for 3 months. Its overloaded though and i want to get them back in this system. I dont know exactly where my phosphates are but I know they are over .6 because my hanna ulr phos checker flashes 200 ppb the highest it will read. There is algae and bryopsis on the rocks. What should I try next. Liquid phos removers in the tank arent even touching the issues here.

I'd get a kit that can read a higher level, to get a second opinion and also see what the level might be. For very high phosphate levels, water changes or lanthanum chloride can be a good way to get started. GFO can be expensive for handling a very high level.

Oh, and make sure you are using RODI water or you may be fighting a battle you will never win.

Have you checked the phosphate levels on the incoming water when you do the water changes?

Yes it's 0 before I took the sand out my phosphates were .15 the rocks have been leaching phosphates I started using lanthanum and it has helped a little and I got a new rodi after resetting it up a year ago and I stay up on my filter and di replacements
