Mak4 pvc size??

I just ordered a Mak4 for my new return pump. WHat size pvc would you guys recommend?? I was thinkind 1 1/2". Does this sound right or do I need to go to 2".

I use one as a basement return pump pushing ~ 10' head. I'm using 1" and it works fine, but I wasn't looking to get max flow from it.
