Hey guys, just went out and grabbed a 20g tank for my sump that im gonna make over spring break. but i came across a few questions.

1. what type of silicon is safe for tanks? i spent 20 minutes at home depot and every silicon had either "not for aquariums" or something like that on it? whats the best one to use? a link would be real helpful here.

2. my overall design will be like: inflow/3baffles/refug/3baffles/output
any porblems with this style setup?

3. my tank hight is about 12 inches. how high should my baffles be?

thanks for lookin!

1. GE Silicone II (Window & Door)

2. You only need one spacer before the output.

3. no more than 9 inches, you need room for backflow for when or if the power goes out.

How big is your main tank?

What are you going to put in your fuge? LR and sand?
Or LR and Bare Bottom?
Check out my sump design on the 215 gallon sump thread.
It will be 100% acrylic.

main tank is 30g

ok then you'll be fine with with the height i gave you. just be sure and test it after your all hooked up, turn off power to the tank and let every thing settle down to make sure the back flow doesn't over fill the Fuge. most people never do this and become sorry later when they aren't home and the power goes out.
